[article link] Pricing & It's Relationship to Artists/Collectors

Artists, collectors, fans, lawyers, family, friends, random people [often whomever I deal w/ in any capacity w/ art] pricing is one of the things I get asked most about these days in some form, depending on who's asking and what it's in regards to.

Though pricing is obviously such a complex [& subjective] subject having so many different variables and factors that are often interdependent [in regards to other artists and the art world in general - past, present & future], yet completely independent of them in other aspects…and sometimes unpredictably predictable, predictably unpredictable, or somewhere in between or sometimes both @ the same time.

The simplest answer I can give: This article [linked below] is a good place to start & even if you’ve seen it, it’s always good to reread and see how it compares to things now and things recently that occurred.

It’s definitely one of the better ones I’ve encountered & especially interesting to read now, given how much time has passed [in the span since it was first written] and how much has also changed in the art world in general since then, especially w/ Shep & Banksy particularly.

West Hollywood Library [NEW] Murals - RETNA, Shep & Kenny Scharf
